Antique Miners Carbide Lamp Hats And Lamps Early 1900SYou are bidding on a very cool set of 2 antique coal miner's carbide lamp hats from the early 1900s. The set includes two hats with calcium carbide lamps, 2 extra lamps and a can of dry calcium carbide. This is a very cool collectible set! We believe taht the lamps still work! The lamp with the large carbide bed is gold in color and has autolite on the top. It says universal lamp co, springfield, ill made in u. S. A. On the bottom. It is in excellent condition and we belieev it will still work! The other lamp wiht the large carbide bed is silver in color and a little more rusted than the other one. It has streamlined justrite on the top. The writing on the bottom is mostly rubbed uot with age but you can make out the word united. It has a patent-pending rubber grip around the bottom htat says justrite aircooled grip pat. Pending.It, too, is in very good condition for an 80+ year old lamp. We believe it will still work! The first one with the smaller lamp bed has a bent lamp bed. This is a guy's dropper carbide lamp from the universal lamp company in springfield, ill. It ahs several patent dates stamped on the top ranging from 1912 to 1925. Other than the dent in the lamp bed it is in great shape. The last lamp, one with the smaller lamp bed, is an autolite lapm from the universal lamp co. In springfield, ill. This one is also ni excellent condition. Both hats are in collectible condition but i can find no lbaels markings or wording at all. The calcium carbide is still useable. It is a 2 pound net can of calcuim carbide sold by the linde company, a subsidiary of the union carbide company. The lid is still removable but rusty.
The bottom has some surface corrosion. The can si in great shape. Starting bids are determined in order ot encourage bidding, by factoring in other comparable auctions, the wishes of the owner and/or applicable ebay fees. The starting bid in no way reflects the value of thsi item. Check uot my other items!
